OLG is pleased to announce the appointment of Technology Director, Chris Hamilton.
50-year-old Chris joins the Company today and will be responsible for providing technical guidance and direction to the design and engineering teams to allow OLG to provide cutting edge and novel solutions for their clients.
His role will involve engaging with customers, academia, technology hubs and technical experts to develop bespoke and packaged solutions for the process industries, as well as developing strategies and processes that allow for efficient and standardised engineering design.
Chris joins us from Croda UK Ltd where he worked as a Process Engineering & Process Safety Manager. Prior to that he has held various positions including a Technical Safety Manager at Yorkshire Water, Process Engineering Technical Authority and Process Start-Up Technical Manager at GDF Suez, Process Engineering Technical Authority at Centrica / BP / Shell and Process Engineer and Advanced Process Control Engineer at ConocoPhillips.
Chris is no stranger to OLG and in the past has worked as Engineering Team Lead on a Valero Refinery Contract through On Line Design & Engineering.
Chris lives with his partner in Leeds but will be residing in Humberston during the week. His hobbies include DIY, electronics, trying to play the piano (by his own admission), good food, nice cruises, sampling new real ales and different types of gin. He has a dislike for gardening and ironing!
Chris said, “At heart, I am an engineer. I love problem solving, creative design and seeing process plant and equipment being built and then come to life. For me, the emphasis will be very much on ‘Technical’. I am looking forward to taking on the new challenge and meeting familiar and new faces at OLG and look forward to working with you all very soon!”
