Business Support Assistant, Sheila Baker is due to complete her 20th Race for Life in Southampton on Saturday 23rd July.
OLG Consulting’s Sheila, who has been worked at the Colden Common office for the last 6 years, has been completing the event every year since 2002 in memory of her Brother, Nan, and Mother-in-Law.
She said, “I first started doing the Race for Life because it fell on the first anniversary of my brother dying, and I wanted to do something, (my sister got a tattoo, but I don’t like pain), and since then I have carried on. I like to think that I am helping to raise the awareness of the work Cancer Research are doing and how much has been achieved in the 20 years since he died.
I’m not doing it with anyone this time, I have in the past, but they are usually 5k, and no-one wanted to do 10k with me! I have completed 19 Race for Life’s, 17 in Southampton and 2 in Winchester (a couple of years I did 2 races).”
