Project Overview

Immingham Green Energy Terminal

OLG were approached by Air Products to provide Pre-FEED and FEED studies for the offsite pipelines for their proposed new green hydrogen facility in Immingham. Due to the nature of the available land the Air Products facility will be spread across two separate plant locations, as well as a new jetty terminal local to Immingham docks.

Pre-FEED and FEED

East Plant to West Plant Pipelines

One study involved linking the services between the East and West plants i.e. Ammonia, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Non-Potable Water, and 33kV and Controls Infrastructure.

This study looked at various options for routing the pipelines both above and below ground. Due to the nature of the area around the docks, the pipelines needed to cross a road and road embankment, railway line, the newly constructed Border Control Post, as well as multiple landowner sites, before finally crossing the road into the west plant.

As a result of the congestion in the area, an underground route via an ~800m trenchless horizontal directional drilling (HDD) was selected. As part of the FEED study, OLG engaged a specialist trenchless crossings contractor who provided support with the design and construction requirements of the trenchless crossings.
