For the last two month’s OLG Engineering have been working on a pharma design and build which required a great collaborative relationship with our client, in addition to the integration of our multi-discipline design team, fabrication and installation team. Taking a proposed system from an initial concept sketch, OLG Engineering developed P&IDs, a piping specification and then, utilising 3D modelling, produced ISOs that were fabricated in our operations facility in Grimsby.
The intricate design was not without problems, due to its fast pace, but as project risks materialised, such as material supply issues, OLG Engineering’s team were able to mitigate quickly due to the “One Team” approach of a single design and build contractor and a client fully bought into the end product and schedule.
Examples of this were our operations facility being able to strip down and modify valves to save the client buying new machine parts that were on extremely long lead times, and thanks to the client our installation team were able to work nights with fitting, welding, and passivation on site.
We won’t pretend it was easy, but it is the difficult jobs where OLG shine, it’s easy to deliver excellence in engineering when the work is simple, but it is the more onerous projects where our team proves itself time and again.
